I'm guessing they make most of their money from the ads - and appreciate the extra they get from paying subscribers enough that it's worth giving them a few extra benefits over the ad removal.

If you like your depressing stories in musical form, try listening to 'Amused to Death' by Roger Waters, inspired by the book. Great album. If you want to amuse yourself while listening, make sure you have your speakers set up so

Eventually, after it was recommended by so many people, I installed Evernote on Android (on a fast new phone - Sony Xperia Z). I also signed up for 'premium'. It was so sluggish when scrolling that I couldn't use it. I contac

Back when I first used Linux on a 486, Enlightenment provided a fancy looking window manager with similarly-themed utility apps (like a pager). What it did in 1997, with the incredibly restricted resources available, was impressive. Even on

Take the languages which can be compiled to Java bytecode, throw in IKVM.NET, add the list of languages which can be compiled for the CLR, and you might have the longest list of languages which can run on one platform?

Sony MDR-1R came 'free' with the Xperia Z phone. Lovely sound, very comfortable and good isolation. If you can find some, might be worth an audition.
