Let's say, a software manual, where you show some screenshots or make a screencast, but for some reason it's not possible to use dummy data and you need to hide the real data (because it's customer's names, or alike)

Only reason I can think of: Pixelation has a more elegant touch than covering everything with a box (be it black, or some better suited color). Took a while to convince people to not use a bit of gaussian blur, because it's insecure. W

Well moving the selection is the 3rd thing you can do, what you meant probably is moving the content of the selection. It's controlled by 3 buttons on top of the tools window, and this plus a few other things are worth spending a bit t

Interesting! Interactive Fiction is not always text-only, adding images is a popular enhancement. Extending that to 3D seems a logical consequence to me. Is this more like a proof-of-concept, or do you plan to enhance and develop it more? T

Beside the knowledge-base aspects of obsidian, it is also an awesome markdown editor, for two reasons: a) it blends source-view and render-view very well, I almost never use the actual render-view. Almost as good as Mark Text or Typora, and

Obsidians source code display is pretty close to preview quality, actually. Sadly they don't dare to feature this in the official screenshots, they are all in preview mode. Here is a side-by-side to get the idea (the theme may be subje

I'm also using ffmpeg to work with images, like creating thumbnails from full-sized images. Basically, what you would use imagemagick for. I just haven't discovered yet scenarios where imagemagick does something better than ffmpeg

I had a similar idea to this while reading the article. Basically, people donate primarily to end-user facing projects, like they do anyway (if at all). Each dependency gets 10% of the donation, which gets capped at 50:50. If there are more
