To sign on for a house, marry, claim a child as yours etc you need witnesses where I live. Web of trust I guess? If someone takes a loan in my name and I don't receive the money it is not an identity theft it is fraud and the victim is

I think you might have constructed a straw man. Not working FTE to ruin society is not "activism" and many big tech companies are more or less profiteering of good will and trust and spitting out money and misery.

How can there be noise in floating point operations? I could buy like completion order for parallized batches i.e. adding a+b+c is different from a+c+b etc.

The leak really doesn't say that. We have no way of knowing what posts are in the different categories.

Doesn't "Roman" imply Roman Empire, not the city, though? Those principal component analysis mappings are also quite susceptible to heavy leaning on a posteriori interpretations.

Nice. Is the data points y-axis normalized by total amount of comments at that time? Edit: Nvm seems like absolute count if you click the graph.

Hmm ... yeah I guess I would feel the same with an always hooked up PC connected to the TV with some sort of nice splash screen. I was too fixated on a classical gaming PC with mouse and keyboard.

I think the difference is phycological. I am way more relaxed infront of a TV. It is like a different mood.

Well try to make a withdrawal and see how convinient that might be. Internet casinos are usually easy to get money into but hard to get money out of.

"Corporatism" not "cooperatism" though, right? Nothing wrong with cooperatism I think.

I unironically not as a joke think that rolling a dice after vetting candidate credentials is about as good as most recruiting policies or better. To much bias for players. Like talk to the person abit to avoid obvious toxic people and then

> My favorite answer was on a phone interview where he just hung up and wouldn't answer when we called back. Heh ... yeah well I wish I had it to do that. However, you are asking gotcha questions.

Yeah I agree. I was trying to makee the point that it is quite easy to make yourself blocked by others and it is a deep skill to get other stuff done while blocked anyway, like say cleanups and tests etc.

> you place all burden on high performers If their PRs don't get merged they don't perform. It is trivial to overload your coworkers with secondary tasks due to your "high performance".

Didn't you have a Voodoo-card or something? I'm quite sure I could run HL1 on a P166 with a Voodoo-card with ok frame rate.

Yeah I feel you. I didn't experience it as extreme as you, but it really sets its marks. When I go to a store with my kids nowadays I let them spend 10% of what I buy. I whine a bit about buying too crappy plastic toys but that is it.

How old are you? The internets were way more nice when we were kids. Not in the no 4chan edgelord way but the not toxic algorithmic way. There is no way feeding YT etc. to kids is at any way good for them, their parents, humanity and so on.

I have some vague recollection of a sketch where the user walks around and gets popups and ads in his glasses and later removes them to discover there is a calm city life around him. Was that Black Mirror?

> Taken far enough, and given enough compute, that trend points to an AI system capable of fully autonomously designing and developing its own successor. This is called recursive self-improvement. Sounds iterative to me.
