I'm also happy we have a single connector but, n=1, I have a couple things that will not work with all cables. I have no idea why, nor have I bothered to find out, I just marked the cables they came with (which are USB-A to USB-C) same

yes, that is the case. But I think the point is that paying 7€ makes it a pretty good deal, at 14€ for "a bowl of soup" it becomes a meh experience. Similarly, as an Italian abroad, I can get a decent pizza margherita in Budapest,

If you buy a cheap Italian club and spend a ton of money you will do well in the national league and go to the UEFA champions league. But the amount of money a random premier league team gets for their league is tenfold, so you still will s

This is a wonderful article. Not being American and not having lived through the Vietnam war (nor am I a history buff) I wasn't particularly familiar with McNamara, but I watched "the fog of war" years ago, and it's a br

it's a cat and mouse thing, but the truth is that there is no will to actually do it, because the party who championed this has since moved to other things, and clubs _want_ the money from betting companies because they're struggl

Referee complaints are common, but I can't remember a case where a disqualified player was allowed to play in last world cups. Covert bullshit, like the Moreno care in South Korea, sure, but brazenly ignoring the rules like what happen

It's crazy that as despicable an organization as UEFA is, they're still far better than FIFA. Infantino has been a disgrace, I hope they manage to get rid of him, but I have very little hope.

it's arguable the "much of the rest of the world" could refer to number of countries rather than number of people, but I think "much of" applies to both so the author avoided the confusion.

This is literally how it works for most fines. You don't get a higher fine every time you go very the speed limit or park in the wrong place. You don't get a higher fine if you don't have a bus ticket. This is not a felony. P

NVidia makes up 7.5% of the SP500. If it lost 50%, it would be a 3% loss for the index. The concentration is bad, but it would not cause a drop of 50% retirement funds by itself. If you take an all world index, it's even less. Still, i
