I switched to Dvorak in 2013 and never looked back. Now type ~120 WPM. Learning how to touch type properly for the first time was a major improvement to me and something I documented on my blog six years ago at https://rietta.com

Ah OS/2 Warp. The OS I got grounded over because I reformatted the family 486 and lost some of my parents files. I truly thought I was setting up dual boot. I was so naive at the time.

Payroll is a lot easier when the owner/executive can skip income for one or more months. It's easier if the business has the cash that in good times allows them to pay payroll even when collections are weak. In my own agency/

I agree. For most small businesses, going the Dave Ramsey way is best. Be debt free, build a cash cushion, and as you say grow slow and methodically with cash not cash you think you might have next month.

For most small businesses, disaster planning is going the full Dave Ramsey. Be debt free in your personal life. Have a 6 month emergency fund. Don't hire in your business until it hurts and is impossible without the additional help. Bu

I went desktop in 2017 (built it myself with parts from Microcenter) after 3 MacBook Pros had issues around the 3-4 year mark. Each of those were paid to be fixed by AppleCare or American Express, but having your primary work computer servi

I downloaded the whole PDF and one thing I find mesmerizing is just how sophisticated the business graphs looked back then. It seems we're only starting to slowly catch up with these in many web apps again.

MicroCenter has a good website. For mass market things, I've switched to the Best Buy that is only 2 miles from my house. Fry's or MicroCenter if I need anything else. My wife bought a iPhone to HDMI adapter from Amazon (against m

Sweet! I used 1Password for years and then went LastPass for Linux support. At the time only the recovery mode worked to the best of my knowledge. This was in the 1Password 4 days.

That’s why dial tone was such an improvement. It’s amazingly recent too. One of my teacher’s mother was on the team at Bell Labs that invented it.
