Totally: if you want to redistribute stuff msys2 makes this much easier. I have both on my system. As a shell environment I like cygwin. With posix compatibility I can compile nearly everything (that does not use libuv). I do not get the na

Cannot echo this at all. I use native binaries like pandoc or chocolatey from cygwin all the time. The only issue may be with stdout and file paths. There is still msys, if you want more windows. I think git bash mostly is only a packaged m

I really wonder what make git bash so much more popular than msys2 or cygwin. Ever since switching from Linux/FreeBSD cygwin has lessened the pain of windows a lot.

Damn, do I have to shut down my wireguard VPN now? Memsafety is not everything. IMHO, everyone should write security relevant code in Ada Spark. There is reasons not to do it, I guess. At least now one can rewrite it in Rust an post it on H

I would encourage people to do so for the exact reason. Personal data should be managed in a way that such requests can be processed. It is OK if it hurts a bit. It is the idea of the GDPR that companies establish scalable processes that al

Is it their business model that they charge for derivatives? I find it weird that there is no bigger adoption of open source in legal documents. I find 'pull requests' on our contracts always interesting.

IMHO Europe should do a hard fork of DNS before it is too late. States already mess with the DNS of major telcos for censorship anyways. Regaining control over the new purely capitalist take of the Internet would finally be something good.
