I bought my lifetime pass in 2016/2017. That's 8 years of service for like $70? Not bad imo

The special thing about plex for me is it is effortless. I run the server, and without any port forwarding it just works. Then my in-laws can sign up, and just like that they can stream that movie I totally own legitimately... And I don

I also think people under estimate how much pondering one does before starting a project.

I think internalization is important for self improvement, so I admire the way you frame this. Try not to downplay the other part's role, though. They are also making a choice in the exchange.

I think I'm more cynical. Almost everything stated on the internet will be perceived as antagonistic. At least by some. It's more a representation of the reader's internal state rather than an issue with the question / s

Our home is pretty typical, with a few touches for my partner and I. It was definitely a more modest project for this particular builder, who typically builds homes 3x the size of ours.

When I was building my home back in 2022 the builder's audio person insisted I use Sonos. I said no. Then I said no another 100 times as this person just pushed and pushed and pushed. I eventually explained I didn't want to be ven

Fully agree. He's also really patient and kind. He's the type of person who's really really smart and doesn't make you feel really really dumb. He takes the time to thoroughly explain things, without being condescending.

Tbh, if you're already using rails the odds that you'll need svelte / react are pretty low. Sometimes you might, and those pages can pull those in, but generally speaking you can do a lot with Turbo and Stimulus.

Fully agree. I recently replaced my doomscrolling with a retro handheld and it really makes me happy. It also pushed me to pick up my ereader again. I spend enough time at a computer than I shouldn't really need a smartphone outside of

Agile isn't entirely irrelevant, it's also not the main issue. It's a cultural one. If someone tells me they work on an 'Agile Development' team my immediate perception is that they are a culture of cargo culting an

I had the same take when I lived in a large city where each area had a healthy community. People there were friendly, eager to engage in conversation, the city had a lot of recreational sports, clubs, and places where people congregated. It
