I was going to ask how your implementation compares to Versor[0] but I see you link from it in your readme. My next question was going to be if there are any license issues, since Versor was for a long time only free for non-commercial use,

Another potential option is to throw Compiz in the mix after you have Mate up and running. Though that may make things more buggy than less, at least you can justify it with eye candy. :)

AGI progress is unlikely to be limited by some exponential curve that we're just not far enough along though. Rather it seems more limited by some key insight no one has found yet. Sure we'll be able to retrofit some exponential c

Postel's law / the robustness principle is a good way to write robust software, like a TCP implementation or an HTML parser. Most software doesn't need to be robust, though, and failing fast probably leads to less security is

Furthermore there are other forms of reasoning than pure deduction. If you allow probabilistic inference, which is how humans generally operate intuitively, many deductive fallacies turn into probabilistic theorems.

It's also possible to implement a decompressor in javascript to support browsers which don't do it natively. The performance would likely suck but if you're truly bandwidth constrained and don't mind users having a bit o

Yeah I could take issue with the term too. At least with minimum wage (which has the same issues wrt a price floor, like many forms of work not being worth the minimum $x/hr the law requires) it's the same at the city/state&#

I don't know if I'd be so charitable to call my counter-assertion to the assertion I replied to an argument, but the replies to your reply are indeed representatives of the argument chains that lead to the assertion, and I agree t

It'd be a fun experiment, but I'm occasionally revolted by the supposed outcome people seem to fantasize will happen. Income tax, the tax people usually complain the most about, is only 100 years old, how did anything get done bef

Taxes are evil. Taxes are theft. Or not. You're not going to change behavior by moralizing to people who consider what you think is moral to in fact be immoral, or who at least are amoral about the whole manner as corporations tend to

X is data. There is no defined structure to it apart from the fact that there are N elements and you can select them. Is it a linked list, is it a random access array? It is not yet defined to be structured in any way. Furthermore you can a

Yes, I would say the relationship is the opposite. Data structures imply a set of algorithms based on the promises of the data structure implementation. Algorithms themselves are free-floating things that can be reasoned about just as well
