   I agree with this. Also, I think that if this (Electron-based apps) keeps getting the type of attention it has been getting (people who are used to web technologies using it for native apps), it will push on Google and hardware manufacturer

   Yes, and browser-based apps still don't seem to perform (subjectively) as well as standalone desktop apps. I do see that changing in the future, however.
