I took melatonin for years (low dose 500mcg). In retrospect, after taking melatonin I don't recall any dreams. I'd only dream after not taking it for a day or two then taking a dose of melatonin. About two weeks after stopping mel

Thanks -- haven't heard that term before. I'll check it out. I like the idea of early FI but I'd like more a cushion that I think some of the lean guys are going for.

By retire early, do you mean retire like Mr. Money Mustache suggests, -- i.e., extremely low cost of living, don't use AC, don't drive anywhere, probably live on less than 20K a year? Or are you making a large enough salary in the

Rented plenty of places. Read my comment again. You seem to have ignored critical parts of it. Yes, if your landlord takes your deposit and do nothing except complain on hackernews they obviously aren't going to write you a check out o

This is easy to get around. Take pictures of the apartment at move-in. Read the lease to discover standard cleaning fees before signing. Take care of the apartment. Walk through the apartment with the Landlord on move-out. If they fraudulen

America seems to have a glut of poorly made "luxury" apartments. Luxury in this sense is they slapped up a standard wood frame multifamily until built to the absolute minimum building codes possible and threw in a concrete counter

Well, no, you don't get FU money at 30 by saving up. 40s to 50s? Possible if you are frugal and responsible with money. (Or retire at 30, start a blog about retiring early on a rather small amount of money, then pull in 400K+ a year in

Good luck. Most of these efforts get swamped with non-technical fanboys and nothing gets done / everything gets leaked. Will be interesting to see if you make progress.

My issue was resolved via the exec customer support team after e-mailing Jeff Bezos. Worth a shot. Amazon is many things, and being great at customer support is definitely still one of their best strengths.

I had an issue where USPS was claiming packages were delivered to meet their prime contractual agreement then not actually delivering it until 1-2 days later. (So prime 2 day was taking 3-4 but marking it as delivered to my box on day 2 eve

Agreed. If this is such a big deal to the group (...) have the DM create a magical resurrection quest so they can all get the sticks out of their asses. Let me guess, the "purity" of the game won't let them do that? The solut

A small college town with at least a handful of tech companies. Boulder, CO was close to that for a while, but it has become far too expensive and is turning into Bay Area Lite. Still a beautiful city if you're rich or well off. Knoxvi

Ann Arbor seems like a great place to live. The major companies still in Detroit (for tax reasons, difficulty in relocating a giant corporation?) should build some rail options to increase talent moving to the area. :)

Disappointing the hackernews comments are turning into the exact same thing I've been avoiding at arstechnica, engadget, and gizmodo. A lot of rage, very little substance.

Does anyone actually prefer the new style low travel keyboards to the old ones? I'm guessing an extreme minority of users does. I can see indifference or thinking the slimmer profile is a good tradeoff, but not objectively liking the k
