I use find for one thing and one thing only--listing all the files under the current directory. du works , but I prefer find. find | while read i; do grep 'foo' $i; done

Dwarf Fortress sounds to me like nethack in its difficulty but unlike nethack in its endlessness. You can play all you want, but there will be no end!

If you haven't checked out three.js yet, you should. Mr. Doob really knows his 3D and makes it really easy to draw cool stuff. http://github.com/mrdoob/three.js -- there's examples there.

Thanks for the link! I definitely have thought of interning, it's just that most internships are for college students only. I'm thinking of bothering some Seattle tech companies as well to see if I can convince them to take me for a summer.
