Why would you hate spending 1 month out of 4 for “planning” and then 40% of the time in the remaining 3 months also for “planning” resulting in a massive destruction of productivity all so you can now claim that “yeah, you delivered a fract

Here’s a small sample of reasons. Take your pick: 1. Evergrande declaring bankruptcy in New York. 2. Evergrande shares opening for trading in Hong Kong after a year and a half and plummeting by nearly 90%. 3. Country Garden posting massive

This sounds a lot more like a govt bringing up the US bogeyman like Imran Khan did in Pakistan than the U.S. actually doing anything.

One of the interesting things in this study is that the mean symptoms of depression kept increasing between the ages of 10 to 14, but then dropped dramatically at the age of 16. That seems odd when compared to the American experience at lea

I suspect the people who are looking for jobs (and based on a recent AskHN about whether people were finding jobs, it seems there’s a lot of such people, including, unfortunately, people who were sounding absolutely frustrated) are not sick

True. Premature deaths and sickness are all made up. /sarcasm You can argue that these numbers are invalid but the idea that literally killing people and making them sick is made up is ridiculous.

The good thing is that change is happening. There is a lot of improvement and we’ve cut the correlation between growth and emissions. The bad part is that it’s happening way too slow because of a lack of collective action as you suggest. I

Why do you think people will build houses with no street space? Anyways it’s not like street space will suddenly be turned over from the govt to private builders, but even if it was private land why wouldn’t they build land with enough spac

> This has led to a monoculture where questioning popular frameworks like React is heretical. If that was the case we wouldn’t have the other problem we have on the front end. A million and 1 different web frameworks.

And to the extent it’s true it’s because they’ve been allowed to circumvent laws that were deliberately setup to limit the number of cabs on the street, and by flooding those streets with Ubers and Lyfts there’s a lot of research that shows

Umm, I’m pretty sure all of them are in much better shape than India’s cities. I mean, skid row in LA, arguably one of the worst places in a U.S. city, isn’t even half as bad in terms of decrepitness and lack of infrastructure as Dharavi in

I disagree with the OP big time. A single currency has benefits (ease of transactions across the globe, elimination of currency risk, etc) but it also has significant downsides, as we saw during the 2007+ financial crisis where countries li

There are a ton of dev tools that are Linux/Mac only. MS didn’t rewrite Windows internals to support WSL for the love of open source. They did it because most dev work happens on Linux (and now macs). Macs get to use that for free. Mic
