I think the idea is to have small units instead of one large bureaucratic tree or similar structure. That way each unit can exert the necessary social pressure. Like Hates_ 13 says, semco is pretty large and it grew and continues to run ef

Thank you. I've been meaning to read something by him but haven't put any thought into which book I should start with. I care mostly that it goes into detail about implementing what he preaches and keeps the pontificating to a minimum.

It seems to me that if a company which manufactures a "solid product" can be run that way it must be possible to run a software company this way. An interview with Semler: http://youtube.com/watch?v=gJkOPxJCN1w

Agreed on all accounts. I think most facebook users think of it as essential enough to pay something as high as $2-10 per month to use it or some set of premium services. That's a good $100M at least monthly. Of course, making the transit

The reason to find shortcuts is that there is a vast amount of information out there and limited amounts of time you can devote to learn it. I am not trying to do it less carefully, I would like to do it more efficiently. To put in perspec

Unless Israel became a member of the EU the Tel-Aviv startup hub probably does not have too great a benefit for Europe. For a startup hub to affect a country (maybe throw in some quotes for Europe), it seems to me that the following are nec
