I'm not aware of context, but looking at the latest release seems to have fewer changes compared to the releases before it. https://nixos.org/manual/nix/stable/release-notes/rl-2.11.ht...

What free or open source projects have had good governance? The motivation for neovim being forked was a frustration with having a vim PR rejected over fear that something would break. The last few years neovim and vim have competed. '

Carlsen's acting with strong compulsion that Niemann is a cheater. Withdrawing from a round-robin and losing a game on purpose are quite strong indications of this. It's obviously a bad situation for the chess world. ... But, I th

One of the points GM Daniel Naroditsky has made about this is that even with the heightened security, it would still be possible to cheat in over-the-board events. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZZ-51lNSe8U

Both Bazel and Nix have some powerful features to them. (Though, oddly, they don't quite mix). I think they both also have downsides where, if your software does things in ways they don't like, it's difficult to use them. --

One of Nix's benefits is it aims to isolate where programs are installed; so you can have multiple versions of the same program available without conflict. (e.g. programs built with different feature flags, or multiple minor versions).
