Depending on the deployment and any SLAs, I either don't worry about it (just do a late night rollout when nobody is on the system) or rely on my deployment architecture's sibling checks (I can see when a given machine is still ve

You can accomplish a lot by just having a basic knowledge of Linux sysadmin. I was clueless and then learned some systemd-and-curl-fu. Will never forget the "holy sh*t, this is deceptively simple" moment. A bit more research and I

Being chill and moving at a sustainable pace is an option, too. The hamster wheel is glowing red hot. That doesn't tend to precede good things happening.

A check inside the generator function is the best way I've found to avoid this. Wrap uuid or whatever random generator with a check against an ID cache. If it already exists, just run the generator recursively.

I see where you're coming from, but this assumes good behavior and discipline which most people/teams struggle with. If a business can get away with some margin of error being acceptable, more power to them. But if not (or doing s

Yes. I do "agentic engineering," primarily using Cline as it allows me to gas-and-brake the AI and review what it's doing on a granular level. So, think pair programming but my #2 is an LLM. I routinely reject turns when a gi
