Someone mentioned something like this in a reddit thread as well [0]. What conclusion would you be hoping to make from that? According to census.gov median household income was $78,378 in 2014 if that's interesting [1]. [0]: https:&#x

Hey, thanks for posting this to HN. For those curious, our designer/CEO (DEO!) Judd Schoenholtz made the graphs in Sketch (we're huge fans). A little trick from him on making the bars to scale... use the actual values as the pixel

That's kind of a 0-sum outlook on the role of businesses in society (gather wealth to distribute to employees). Most of the businesses we're talking about are benefiting society not through job creation but through technology crea

IDK, employee count seems like a red herring. To me it's much more impressive to do a lot with a small number of employees (like WhatsApp's 18M users/engineer [0]). Amazon incredibly impressive, I just mark the high employee

Yep, it's not like we don't have open protocols with millions of users. Data silos and super nodes in the network are a socio-economic effect, not technical. What I mean is that as long as it's desirable to become a high traf

I had a similar experience to this at amazon. I think the nature of programming work is so murky that it makes sense to do this even if you don't care about the employee (though my managers genuinely seemed to). What I mean by murky is

I disagree with the premise that these apps exist to make a small group of people money... 1) Nobody's working on this kind of stuff just for the money, and if they are then they've lied to a lot of people and are fucking up. If y
