Right, but maybe we should lean towards software that is less like an organism and more like a tool. My hammer is fine, ruby is fine.

Netflix seems good at not destroying their product... though inherently the vision is kind of a scaled distraction machine. I agree with the thrust of your comment and wonder how we might get there. Software companies did look more like you

I have the same question about what makes up the cost structure. How much does it cost docusign/hellosign etc to be the "notary"? FWIW the other signature providers have an enterprise sales process which is very negotiable. P

One thing to note is that seasonally there are always less listings and less home shoppers at the end of the year. So seeing more price cuts and less new listings is actually pretty normal in October, November, and December. Personally I&#x

There are over 900 MLS organizations in the US. Their purpose is aggregating the RE listings in a region. This was super important 100 years ago, still pretty important 25 years ago, and now has little utility for consumers now that listing

very cool, thx for sharing and for making a useful thing on the internet! I know it's gauche, but I'd love to get a rough feel of how much you're making from that ad. You think you'd ever go full-time on this type of s

True and fb will have a wider social graph context. Though it seems useful (for threat monitoring) to also have trimmed self-selections with only people who want to communicate privately and "speak freely".

Looks cool. Will this work with postgraphile, hasura, or prisma? They seem to suggest it does but I wonder if anyone has tried it. Postgraphile relies on row-level policies [0] and not even all hosted postgres instances work with it in that

There's the enforcement aspect that other commenters mention, but what's maybe more relevant to the OP is that every member's contract is open source. You know exactly what everyone is making and the mechanism for making deci

Lots of classic HN dismissals here, though I am glad we as a community have finally gotten past the anger around requiring JS to use the site. In my mouth, Twitter is probably the best, most responsive web app I've ever used. It is not
