Yeah not the end of the world if it doesn't land immediately, based on the original devs responding that they'd rather find the right place for it than the expedient place for it

Yeah, I think MS should address this point. Airlie also asked if everything here is covered by Open Invention Network (OIN) of which Microsoft is a participant, and indeed I'm pretty sure it all has to be since that is the point of OIN

My understanding is that this is meant to become transparent to the user, that really this is about enablement of hardware acceleration within WSL, and that the typical Linux userland graphics APIs like OpenGL would layer on top. So the goa

I believe the purpose is for devs who are deploying to Linux, their toolchain may not fully work in Windows, but they want to have a similar dev/test env within Windows... pretty much the whole point of Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL

This seems to be highly tied to the challenge of moving things around on a mobile phone (multi-touch device). While I do think there's benefits for accessibility in this sort of UI, I think most users would prefer if a multi-touch drag

I do want to say that despite my comment here, seems like projects like Devuan, Void, and Arch are doing OK with this, in concert with projects like elogind and eudev etc that forego systemd while providing compatible replacements.

Agreed. I've finished the whole thing and although it is a bit rambly it is worth it for anyone who uses systemd on the daily. I realized I have deployed units that misunderstood these core dependency primitives

Before I comment here: I am a fan of systemd in many ways, and I happily use it on my systems. That being said, you do really have to think about the systemic factors at play here. As noted in the original article, Debian found itself in a

You need to do a post-mortem on this. What exactly did Aurelia do to trigger this to start with? A contribution from a sanctioned country? A github issue posted by someone from a sanctioned country? How exactly are open source projects supp

This, I use it for all Node.js backend requests. Personally I think we need to move to isomorphic solutions and work to unify backend and frontend JS development as much as we can. This one's a no-brainer

I'm a little confused by this- if you have multiple independent apps on a machine, would they not already be in separate OS processes?

This also raised my eyebrows -- I don't even see the redirect, I just get broken HTTPS if I try to use it. In 2019 (almost 2020!) no website should be served over plain HTTP let alone have broken and nonfunctional HTTPS.

That is how it works to the best of my knowledge, but most users don't browse that way; they browse from the home page. Hence it's a perceived issue to a lot of creators. Not saying I agree that the answer is no recommendation eng
