I agree with most of this, but I do think that other than the worst of the users (which admittedly are much more visible than the better ones) do in fact understand how to navigate closed issues.

I keep issues open until a release resolves them for all my open source projects. It helps to prevent duplicates, helps me maintain good release notes, and ensures the open issue list is a more honest description of the software you get whe

Either you are thinking of other project management tools or assuming that some of the "stale issue locking" and automated issue management tools that some larger projects use are default. On GitHub, it is true that the Issues sea

That's a different problem. Apple forbids developers from shipping their own browser engine. Since devs can only use the Safari engine, they are limited to what Safari can do, and Safari doesn't support web extensions. But, since

Luke Stephenson reported this in his review, and if you are familiar with his work, he's very thorough and not particularly biased against Bethesda or these types of games.

Personally this seems extremely obvious. Not sure we need a new architecture name to describe it.

To be clear, since "can be used in function contexts without referencing the specific method name" might be ambiguous to some- in Java you still call the "function" as if it was a class implementing the interface. IE: `i

More generally, this is just semantic versioning. The first non-zero position is considered to have "major" impact, the following number is then a "minor" impact. https://docs.rs/semver/latest/s

Yes, but C is simple (and standard) enough that higher level runtimes have more or less universally managed to construct decent FFI mechanisms to access it. C++ FFI would be kind of feasible if mangling were standardized (for instance) :-&#

I agree, with the caveat that given a heavy duty, large, and well-understood and -designed C++ API, the tradeoff of using a tool-generated wrapper might be worth it, even if such a wrapper may be more obtuse than one specifically considered

Alan Kay isn't going to agree that you should simply pass structures around and use element-level procedures. Message passing as a concept is a higher order version of what you see in C++, not what you see in C. A big reason Kay disli

As with all of the languages you mention, consuming C from the other language is trivial. And since C++ is a superset of C that is certainly true there. Consuming the other language from C is difficult without a C compatible runtime API to

Particularly function pointers may have different sizes than what you'd expect. Thus it's best practice to always use sizeof() for the specific type of pointer you are interested in if you need to know it at runtime just as with a

Also the Rational usage example in C++ is using stack allocation. It's weird to then pretend like heap allocation is equivalent in the C example. I think making stack allocation work in this case would probably be difficult, but it

I think this is a great idea, but I lament the pattern of just throwing Plus at the end of everything. It's been used to the point of having no meaning now. Can't blame NASA though.

I agree that sanitization isn't an excuse not to use web components. Only that brushing off sanitization as solved by web components is dangerous rhetoric.
