It's not surprising if one has the mental model of the probability that the request gets enqueued. Then when you add variable time to process requests it becomes more clear why some requests can take unexpectedly long (there is a >0

It's not surprising that Trump is as bad as he is at many of these things, but what is surprising is that he's worshiped by his supporters.

I tried it and it was extremely broken and dramatically overhyped. Which I guess is what Elon finds appealing about it, as that seems to be his preferred type of business.

While there is some irony in the AI is dangerous marketing Anthropic uses, the main story here is that the Trump administration is apparently retaliating against Anthropic for refusing to relax certain safeguards. Trump and Hegseth have b

Cursor was simply able to get early access to openai models and get an early lead doing things that are now obvious and done better by many others. Does anyone really want to use a crippled "enhanced" vscode to interact with a cri

The government blocking access to frontier AI is the definition of AI dystopia. Let's hope Anthropic open sources Fable and teaches Donald Trump a lesson the way Deepseek did! If Anthropic keeps Fable closed source and plays the Author

A few years ago Dropbox just stopped working for the basic thing it is supposed to do -- let me access lots of files without taking up tons of local drive space. Since then I have not stopped using/paying, but i have stopped counting

Just as poorly designed code can still compile. This is operator error, not a failure of the technology.

This failure is human laziness, not an issue with the technology. People who use AI because they are trying to avoid doing work fall into a completely different category than people using AI as a force multiplier and for skills/capabil

For now open weight models are legal. Conceivably the government could claim that an open weight model "contained" forbidden information and simply ban it. We live in authoritarian times.

I think we'll know this is true when deepseek becomes illegal in the US. I tried to sign up for deepseek API access directly from the company out of gratitude for the open source contribution (deepseek.com) but payments are blocked by

agentic engineering is when you go from vibes to trust. It's much like how one feels about a brand new unproven, newly hired human team member vs a trusted team member one has worked with for years.

More likely, the story is designed to make the public believe that US propaganda is actually aimed at the "foreign adversary" rather than at the US population. The emotionally appealing bit is the idea that even if the story is fa
