The software is fine. I've been using macs for over 20 years, currently running an M2 with Sequoia 15.7.3 and haven't had any issues. I can't remember the last time I had any OS issue with an Apple machine. Sure, their Music

I would never work anyplace that relegates me to an AI interviewer. Hard pass.

The limits are what did it for me. They kept boasting about Opus performance and improvements, practically begging me to try it out, and when I did, it totally obliterated my usage. I'm sure its good, but I stick to Sonnet because I&#x

Yeah this is a huge problem for Anthropic and its why I unfortunately haven't been able to kill of my ChatGPT subscription yet.

Me either. I guess it's just fatigue, at least for me. I also don't really get that excited by new LLM releases either. Not to say the tech isn't impressive, but I guess all the hype has me inured.

Sounds pretty beefy. What kind of local LLM is that thing capable of running? Does it open up real alternatives to cloud providers like OpenAI and Claude, or are the local models this hardware is capable of running still pretty far behind?

Let me also register my disinterest in another platform that mimics TikTok. Brainrot is brainrot regardless of whether it's "federated and open-source" or not. And BTW, 95% of the people on TikTok don't care about either

Good write up I guess, but I'm just so tired of all the AI-isms in every damn thing. "Your European passport is one quiet subpoena away" Why does the subpoena need to be quiet? If I search my chats with ChatGPT for the word &

The part of the story I believe is the part about basically half naked children on Facebook, whether real or AI. I haven't put anything on my profile for the algorithm to tailor content to, since it's used for only marketplace and

I sometimes have to login to the Facebook app to use the marketplace, and my experience is the same as what is written in the article. I see ragebait, clickbait, AI slop, tons of half-naked young looking girls (some AI, some real), and the

Why would a doctor refuse to prescribe it before 50? Is there a harm to receiving it “early”?

Oh no, this is definitely something. We need to root out the truth and see that all these people are held to account. You shouldn’t be minimizing the importance of this.

You got some shitty comments in here but you handled them well. While I think there is _some_ valid criticism, I think what you've built is pretty cool. I'd like to be able to test this without next JS. Is a CDN option planned for

I enjoyed the read. How did you tap into the legacy Power Basic engine? Was there a FFI or some kind of bridge you could hook into? And what languages were you using?

I’m not clicking an X/Twitter link. That site is a cesspool. Why couldn’t you have just posted it directly for a Show HN? Linking to a tweet is weird.

I agree the tone is better on Claude but the limits suck on the Pro plan.

Same experience here. I started our devoutly using Claude but ran into some many limits that I switched back to ChatGPT and it's been night and day. I haven't even really been able to play with the Opus model on my Pro plan becaus

Exactly. I barely had a chance to kick the tires the couple of times I did this before it exploded my usage. I don’t just chat with it casually. The questions I asked were apart of an overall planning strategy which was never allowed to get

My experience trying to use Opus 4.5 on the Pro plan has been terrible. It blows up my usage very very fast. I avoid it altogether now. Yes, I know they warn about this, but it's comically fast how quickly it happens.

I feel like I can't even try this on the Pro plan because Anthropic has conditioned me to understand that even chatting lightly with the Opus model blows up usage and locks me out. So if I would normally use Sonnet 4.5 for a day's

Wow thanks for doing this! It's not like any one of us could've done the same thing had we wanted to, so really appreciate you taking this initiative.
