This was a problem with pi4, is it seriously still an issue with pi5?

Surprised by the downvotes to be honest, it's relevant. It's okay, I hate cookie popups also.

I was unfortunately looking for a cookie consent manager for a new build I'd just optimized, and didn't like that the open source options were 100KB+ so I made my own [0] and relied on <dialog> to support my goal of writing

This is true. It's basically GrapheneOS or DivestOS as best options.

I recently acquired a 43" 4K monitor for programming - a very boring Philips monitor, used at 100% scale. I hated it at first, but after a month I loved it. 2160p actual 'workspace' resolution at this distance (2 feet?) and s

VSCodium is VSCode without the Microsoft EULA and extra stuff. Most extensions are available in the app, others through openvsx.org

I personally think that the best alternative is statamic. I've built two large sites with it without touching a line of PHP. No themes or crazy plugin dependencies in the manner of Wordpress, so its a roll everything yourself type deal

The founder of an open source project he founded should step down because you don't like his opinions? He's allowed to be pissed off that some other company is profiting without contributing back. Developing the single most popula

Docker Desktop uses 130MB RAM for me on MacOS. I'm guessing the app is using a system webview rather than bundled chromium/electron, which is the right thing to do given how simple the UI is.

That's the trick for stability on MacOS, wait a few versions after a major. Done this for a few years now and I have had no problems. When they change OS APIs, it happens on a major point zero release. Another good reason to wait is ma

I usually wait for a .4 update before upgrading. One time around Catalina there was a bug that broke USB-C docks.. Oh cool none of my devices work. Interestingly in that thread, 'Intel' is not mentioned once.

There's a bug megatread on r/macos full of networking bugs that makes it clear that upgrading to sequoia is not a good idea just yet.

I didn't have much success with ollama either. You really need a great accelerator for it to be useful enough. Codestral however is working out great so thanks for the tip.

Gomockingbird was the best at this (for my purposes), but they decommissioned and didn't open source it like they said they would. Balsamiq was next best and I use it still, but has a cumbersome user interface with enough friction that
