That's funny: while there was clearly some work done on the website, it is very bad: on my phone there's no simple way to go from one section to the next!

I should have said 'normal' correlations: if you put a black ball and a white ball in a box, if two persons pick one ball the result of their observation is correlated but there's nothing surprising here.. But in QM, it'

The Nobel prize was about experiments showing that QM entanglement is different from 'normal' entanglement, so I 'm not surprised.

Yes, that's why I think than 'checked int64' are a far better default for language integers than 'big ints', because if you overflow an int64, it's most likely a bug/an hacking attempt.

It's not the 'default' it's the behaviour of this allocator. This makes this allocator fast, but it should clearly be named/described I agree.

What's funny is that one man 'crud' is another regret: MIPS had arithmetic operations which detected integer overflow..

I seem to remember reading that the 'scalable' part of SVM was lost as soon as you did loop unrolling.. I hope I'm wrong though!

That depends on the plugins selection I guess. When I tried SpaceVim its start-up time was higher than VSCode so I uninstalled it..

> Zero-terminated C strings is up there as well. I disagree here, remember that at the time some strings with length implementations used only one or two bytes for the length, this can creates lots of issues that zero terminated strings

While I agree with you. It's still infuriating that these (serious) flaws in C apparently can't be fixed/evolved inside the language and that instead you have to use a different language instead.. That's throwing the bab

I'm not an expert on this topic but: GoL cells have only a very limited number of states whereas realistic simulations have a big numbers of possible states for each cells so I doubt it's possible.

'black art' maybe not, overcomplicated mess? Yes! I've tried to use the docker compose command to limit the maximum number of CPUs used, I failed, even though it's possible: the support team managed to do it, but why did

While I agree with the author, there's an issue is that the 'semantic annotations' are centralised within each AI, so if the AI get it wrong, well though luck you can't do anything about it..

In theory yes, there should be an overlap as the philosophy are similar (no hidden control flow) in practice they are very different. For example Austral has no macros whereas Zig relies heavily on comptime. Austral is to Ada and Rust what

It's the correct word because you loose information when this happens: the size of the array is 'lost' (for 'fixed' arrays, VLA don't have sizes known by the compiler).

It's also very wrong for volatile: the compiler has to handle a volatile 'type' differently than regular types: you cannot 'cache' the value in a register, memory must be updated.

And C is also AFAIK the only language with a formally proven compiler CompCert C. If you used something else, you'd need to trust a lot more code .

I don't know, I've worked on a C++ project where most of the Ids/Index 'types' are done with typedef/using int :-( So in theory the language is statically typed but in practice case a large part of the project
