Nice theory, how do you do in the real world where you have a 'data' whose value depends on the OS used?

BS you can't use teleportation to transfer information faster than the speed of light. Maybe they can use 'quantum teleportation' to do something useful but this article doesn't explain what..

Zig will remove many UB but it will add a new nasty one in case of pass by value parameter aliasing with a parameter passed by pointer.. *: https://ziglang.org/documentation/master/#toc-Pass-by-value-...

The parameter is immutable so if you pass a pointer, the pointer is immutable, but the pointed value isn't.. If the pointer alias another 'immutable' parameter, this parameter may not be immutable anymore..

I still think that they made a big mistake in not having the letters immediately following the numbers, this would have made printing numbers in hexadecimal much more efficient.

I'm surprised that the list of Zig quirks doesn't include aliasing and functions parameters: the compiler can pass your parameter by value or by reference as it wants so your function behaviour can change in case of aliasing.. An

It's funny this article is technically correct but also totally wrong: if you can't run the application(web browser, game, office suite) you want on an OS, it maybe the 'Ideal' OS you're still going back to Windows.

While this is true, let's not forget that if there's a problem in the unsafe section, the issue can manifest itself much later in the safe code.. I'm not a Rust programmer but I remember reading about such kind of issue (an a

Unfortunately this can also be the case of integration test : I spent the last week trying to understand if the regressio n in an integration test was a bug or if it was the previous behaviour which was buggy..

In the same idea in Eiffel in a.b, b can be either a member or a function to allow easy replacement. On the opposite other languages want to have no hidden function call, no hidden pointer dereferencing..

Simple and stable aren't the most important part: AFAIK anybody can implement a CPU or an emulator with RISC-V ISA, which isn't the case for the other ISA.. There are a few exception such as OpenPower but you can't really buy

I disagree: a lot of CPU ISA design decisions are a result of the state of the technology available to implement these CPU. As the technology change, design decisions should be revisited: see here https://queue.acm.org/detai

Where's your proof? Rust has far fewer UB than C yet its performance is comparable to C.
