I'm not so sure, it depends a lot of the memory allocator: if the memory allocator decide to defragment your heap when you call it, you'll get a lot of additional latency..

Except that the Amiga didn't have any memory protection, something not really possible when connected to Internet. A more interesting comparison is BeOS: it had memory protection and it was (probably still is) way more responsive than

Uh? You should also avoid memory (de)allocation in 'realtime' part of your code even in languages without GCs!

No need to wait. AFAIK currently there is no way in the 'pure wayland' world to display remotely windows unless you use X11. Are there VNC application on top of Wayland?

Yes, this is quite possible.. Wayland is much lower level than X11 so each compositor has to add its own additional protocols which could 'in theory' be incompatible but note that 1) these additional protocols are most of the ti

One thing to add to your explanation because there is ALWAYS someone who ask: this "spooky action at distance" cannot be used to communicate faster than light.

Wrong. X has remote capabilities BY DEFAULT. Wayland will eventually have an option to render remote applications, but as it will be only an option it won't work 'equally well'..

Uh? I replaced my S3 by a S7 and the hardware changes are huge: better CPU obviously but also much better screen (the S3 was unreadable during sunny days..)

I disagree with the last part of your comment: many RISC added a 16 bit extension of their ISA.. So you can have RISC and code density similar to CISC, no need to keep a bloated instruction decoder on the CPU..

I find quite funny that the author is so convinced that the use of colors is the "right default". 1) I'm colorblind so my view of colors is different from yours. 2) I find that any tool which use many colors suck: there will

I agree with your first point against Wayland, but your second point isn't correct: Wayland's design is not meant to prevent keyloggers just to make them optional.

Don't forget the twins paradox, it shows quite nicely that time and space (as one twin accelerate through space he ages slower than his twin) are linked, however counter intuitive this may be..

Maybe, maybe not: from Wikipedia the first official validation of GNAT (the Free Ada compiler) was done in 1995. So there were already safer languages available.
