So that's bandcamp->musicbrainz, and then picard can get it from musicbrainz as usual? I assume you need an account. That sounds great though, I guess the point is to have someone in the loop to sanity check things?

I just went through an exercise fixing up tags on my music collection and it surprised me how bad the landscape is (and still better than book tagging, video tagging, etc). MusicBrainz has an amazing database, but a huge amount of stuff fro

I'm not necessarily a fan of Apple's design, but I want to add that when you have floating header bars it cuts down screen real estate and makes the UI feel more claustrophobic. Making it semi-transparent helps that significantly.

Communication skills are often missing in engineering too, but I think I'd argue they should be required - all work is fundamentally collaborative. Being able to effectively communicate to different people on your team, outside your te

If the medicine instructions didn't state that they should be taken in the morning it might be reasonable, but presumably the producer had some reason for including that instruction. Furthermore, the linked study implies that this effe

I'm doing CedarCure. You're required to not exercise or bath/shower for 2h after taking, which is fairly difficult in the morning, so I asked the doc if I could do it in the evening instead (despite explicit instructions to

We've hit into this a lot lately too, even on AWS. "Elastic" compute, but all the elasticity's gone. It's especially bitter since splitting the costs for spare capacity is the major benefit of scale here...

I don't agree. Plenty of people write HTML by hand, no WYSIWYG, often with no more than a live preview pane like Typst's. Why isn't it easy to place something relative to the edges of a page via text? In HTML I do `padding: 2

I believe you can do those sorts of layouts in Typst (and Latex, and Sile!), but it's about how far out of the way you have to go and how much you fight the system in the process. I don't see any examples of Typst doing anythin

That looks interesting, and to be fair right now I'm doing something similar... but doing headless rendering with that sort of stuff is very hard, AFAIK the standard tool for that has been abandoned now for a couple years. Also there

This, Typst, etc etc are primarily typesetting systems for papers . I would love alternatives to HTML or whatever, but I tried Typst too and it's very clear that the authors only really care about typesetting for papers and other long
