I wrote an extension that did something similar for Twitter, back when Twitter had "So-and-so liked this" tweet, which was inevitably something awful. It's archived now, because it's no longer relevant. But you might fin

Men: make new friends now. Elderly isolation is rooted in the habits developed in middle age, and it particularly affects men. Overcome that awkwardness and make new friends.

Hmm. I don't find that theory convincing. That sort of humor does not really fit in with their body of work, but random absurdity definitely does. Hamsters aren't really known for promiscuity. Fecundity perhaps, but then the ins

The comparison wasn't notable male athletes versus non-notable female athletes. It was non-notable male athletes versus non-notable female athletes. The observation that male sports is more popular, while true, is a non-sequitur .

I remember reading an accusation from someone upset about a page deletion that the notability guidelines are so tight in order to drive traffic to Fandom. At the time I thought it was absurd, but I find myself wondering about that a lot.

It is very difficult for us humans to really grasp that unknown unknowns are real and have an effect. On some level, we assume that if we don't know something, it's not worth knowing, or we confidently make things up not even real

Huh! Amazing. In my high-school we insulted each other's mothers every day. Going to the teacher about it would have been inconceivable. Was it common practice at your school, an anti-bullying initiative or something? Was this in the U

This is how unions weaken. Divide first, by implying that some class of workers are not worthy of collective bargaining agreements. Then conquer, because unions aren't powerful.

TL;DR Wikipedia has no defense against organized, bad actors. The institutional protection protocols are easily weaponized against unorganized and solo editors. My experience wasn't so bad. I was less irritated by the harassment and do

My aha moment in CSS was learning the rules of specificity, when one rule overrides another. I had always assumed on some level that later rules override earlier ones, which is true, but only part of the story.
