Well you can't, but that wouldn't work with routing either, and it is not the situation at hand: in the article there are multiple IPs on the VPS: > you now have multiple real-world IP addresses that people can get to In your n

I don't know what you mean by "the protocol". There is a destination IP address on every packet... getsockname() will tell the proxy which local IP the client dialed, allowing it to create "virtual hosts" (or you ca

Yes, once you click, you'll notice you have been baited into something you don't care about. I certainly feel that way, same as GP.

tinc can also automatically select routes through the mesh, and it supports layer 2 (tap) VPN too. Wireguard is a long way from this feature set unfortunately.

Since the cruise ship is named, there is a good chance someone at the company (even without technical skills) will notice this article and tip off IT this way.

And the receiver: https://github.com/open-telemetry/opentelemetry-collector-co... I'll have to try this! edit: actually Jaeger can just read those files directly, so no need to run a collector with the receiver. T

I have thought about that before, but I was blocked by the really poor file support for OTel. I couldn't find an easy way to dump a file from the collector running in my CI job and load it on my laptop for analysis, which is the way I

This blog post is a lot more obscure than usual. Sometimes with sentences directly contradicting itself, like: > Workers KV is built as what we call a “coreless” service which means there should be no single point of failure as the servi

Is that true? I see no direct report about that. downdetector says so, but it's crowdsourced so it tends to have fake positives.

If most people in your country use Meta apps, whether it's a tax discount spread across the population or a payout spread across the userbase doesn't make a difference. Personally I would like to see some execs go to prison, rathe

My number one problem with Restic is the memory usage. On some of my workloads, Restic consumes dozens of gigabytes of memory during backup. I am very much in the market for a replacement (looking at Rustic for example).

Yes, I caught one candidate doing exactly that. There were other obvious signs as well. Of course I don't know how many I didn't catch.

Why? Do you think many people would want to develop from their phones instead of PCs if that was an option? I've certainly never wanted to. You can actually run a desktop VM on a phone pretty easily (I even run a Windows one, for games

It matters if 1) you have long-lived sessions on the application (RP) or 2) the application (RP) does something on behalf of the users and you need to stop that. For example, say I leave the company. My account in SSO (IdP) gets deactivated
