benjojo has an article on this, with another (Golang) implementation: https://blog.benjojo.co.uk/post/ssh-randomart-how-does-it-wo... Includes example results, as well as an explanation for the randomart algorithm.

That's not how randomness works. The expected duration of the attack is only determined by how close they want to get to your artwork. For example, if you pick the first key you generate, it obviously doesn't mean the attacker can

> is better suited to the task than redis That is a claim not an argument, and again it can't be a shared queue because no networking. Or do you believe Redis doesn't have atomic operations?

So a private submodule? My point is, don't use an end-to-end encryption scheme if you want more than the ends decrypting it.

You're describing a private repo. GitHub/GitLab/... have that.

That's right. This is the entire point of an end-to-end encryption scheme, of you are ok with the forge having the key then you have regular private repos.

SQLite is not a server, you can't use it as a shared cache or job queue or pubsub mechanism. On the other hand Redis is a bad database so I would say the use cases don't overlap.

As long as content is authored by the administrator of the server, I don't see where there is a security issue. It's like if you point to your own Apache server in your own domain where you host a scam page and say there's a

An crucial point for me was realizing that "recursive CTEs" are not really recursive but better understood as iterative, in other words a loop. The results of each iteration are fed into the next iteration, until no new result is

I don't see how. This is a direct link to the author's bluesky server (PDS) so of course it is controlled by them.

Neither Wikipedia nor GP said something about intentions. My understanding of GGP's complaint is that they'd refer to the package containing the security issue as "backdoor", rather than the malware itself, and I disagre

"health checks" are better broken down into "liveness" and "readiness" checks. You often want separate timings for the initial startup phase as well. If your platform only has one "health check", figu

What does metastability mean in this context? I've only seen it used to mean "appears stable but not actually stable", eg systems that resist small perturbations but never return to nominal after bigger disturbance (like cold

CAPTCHAs already don't work. If they are not annoying enough to turn your customers away, they are very easy for an attacker to pay people to solve.
