Yeah, you can also use Parquet/JSON/protobuf/XLSX and store numbers as strings in this format. CSV is just a container.

It wasn't 404 before. It has probably been reported to GitHub and banned by them. The user only had that one repository though.

The links the reporter are trying to use already don't work on mobile. If you want to link to the README file, link to the README file, e.g. https://github.com/ArchiveBox/ArchiveBox/blob/dev/README.m

The problem is that log messages are collected from many researcher-authored applications. Some of them are JSON, in which case I want to parse them and store the parsed JSON as you say. But some of them are not JSON, in which case I need t

JSON no problem, sometimes-JSON no. It would drop the not-JSON message entirely.

ELK could never deal with my logs which are sometimes-JSON. Loki can ingest and query it just fine. Also the query/extraction language makes a lot more sense to me.

They are expanding on what the guarantee from AWS means, their statement is correct. They did not say the pizza place does this, they said the pizza place's guarantee allows for this. I don't see a problem.

You need an always-on machine, and a wired network connection since this rarely works over wifi. This excludes a lot of setups.

This seems orders of magnitude slower than Nubmq which was posted yesterday: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=43371097

This is a lot clearer than any information I found anywhere else. There wasn't any room on your website, README, or docs for this summary?

The docs do, the site is useless. > DiceDB is an open-source, fast, reactive, in-memory database optimized for modern hardware. A Redis-like database with a Redis-like interface. No info about drop-in compatibility, I assume no.

Ah this makes sense, I was going to comment that "docs" was not really a suitable name. What is the correct full name then? lasuite docs (judging from the logo, that seem to be the brand part)? docs numerique (from the URL)?

No the "v4" tag gets updated from v4.1 to v4.2 etc as those minor versions are released. They are branches, functionally.

This is cool but useless because they redacted all the company names. The opposite of a name and shame, because no name and no shame.

People don't pin versions. Referencing a tag is not pinning a version, those can be updated, and they are even with the official actions from GitHub.

I very much meant it as a nitpick. This is a single comment labeled as a tangent, how is it "drama"? Chill.

Yours is the only tool I found that supports both web + command-line use. But it seems very dead. At the very least you should update those instructions if you want people to think otherwise.

SimpleX has the same limitation. I hate how all those apps with modern networking or modern crypto can't get those important usability things right.

Complete tangent: "voila" is French for "here it is", but "viola" is French for "raped". Careful using foreign words if you're not sure you can spell them.
