I've noticed that a lot in this current stream. Instead of stopping to think and plan out how to do something, he keeps reiterating until he's satisfied. He's satisficing. He's producing something quickly, rather than some optimal solution

I signed up for HackerBuddy a long time ago and never used it since. I'm a lot more interested in finding hackers nearby so this will give me some incentive to use the service. Some buddies and I are organizing a hackathon and now I can use

I really hope this becomes the norm when hiring. I'm graduating soon and going into the work force, and I would love to work in an environment as described here - on a diverse team where team members complement and motivate each other. I do

I have no use for this because I never carried around a shopping list in the first place. I also don't own an iPhone, but I would imagine the app store is already saturated with shopping list apps.

In pg's words: "The best one can say is: if you're in a startup hub, unexpected good things will probably happen to you, especially if you deserve them. [...] I'm not saying it's impossible to succeed in a city with few other startups, just

My favourite part was how the people appear to hate their jobs. Only in the last panel (Deployment) do you see anyone from the team smiling.

Epicenter is sending out some annoyed tweets while defending the AgileUX movement. They claim their process is nothing like waterfall as it focuses on iterative UX prototyping. https://twitter.com/epicenternyc

I agree that UI in FOSS is often terrible, but as munaf mentions below, developers are becoming more design-minded and it's slowly changing. It's hard to get designers to contribute to FOSS, I don't know why. A lot of developers simply don'

I agree. I know little about aviation, but wouldn't it be better if the sensors would automatically de-ice themselves rather than only being de-iced at the pilots' command?

Every few months a story like this from Kevin Rose pops up where he tries to explain what went wrong. Nothing's changed, he's still blaming the hiring process and the developers. On the other hand, I would love to hear the story of why Digg

I think the presentation of content drove away a lot of users. Many didn't like their new interface. Personally, I left before that because I was tired of the "power diggers" that controlled what everyone saw. It didn't feel community drive

What about adding a random conversation starter? Maybe it's just me, but I've always found it awkward when a conversation is forced (i.e. two random people pushed into the same chat room, now talk).

First thing I thought of when I saw Shapecatcher was Detexify. The similarities are obvious, it was most likely his true inspiration, or at least part of it, yet he didn't mention in the about page.

There's a ton of GNU and GPL software that you probably unknowingly use. If you don't use any MS software, and you don't plan on using any FSF/GNU/GPL software, then you're really limiting yourself.
