I'm glad this made it to the front page, otherwise I wouldn't have read all the interesting debates in the comments.

I use $100 of prepaid credit with Telus (I'm in Canada) and it lasts me a year. I mostly use my Android phone for the wi-fi. Most providers offer a free sms service online and I use Google Talk for free phone calls.

From 212 bytes, 9 bytes were added (not subtracted) to keep track of the score, making the total 221 bytes. Save 2 bytes and you get 219 bytes.

As far as I know, shadow/silent bans only apply to users, not domains. Does anyone know if reddit has tried extending silent bans to domains?

You've been going to the wrong hackathons then. If you look hard enough you'll find some where you don't need to sign anything, and if you can't find any, start planning one.

Cameron and Todd backed the Upturn project on Kickstarter, they didn't create it. NTS Works (the organization behind Upturn) is in competition with AeroVelo (the organization behind Atlas).

Perhaps I found an error. AV Rule 69 says to use `const` by default on member functions. Yet in some examples (e.g. AV Rule 122 in Appendix A) they don't use the `const` keyword when they can.

I can't answer your question because I don't know about the inner workings of CodeShelver, but it's safest to assume you would lose everything (going off the assumption that they store the info on their own servers). You should also check o

This made me think. I wonder if there is potential for a startup that rents office space to startup teams in a tropical area near the beach or with a really nice view. Judging from this thread (which is a small sample but still something),

Agreed. The signal to noise ratio in my newsfeed is very low because of it. There exists some workarounds (e.g. https://www.codeshelver.com ) but I'd like to see GitHub fix the problem.

You can manage your search engines in Chrome to get the same !bang effect. Slightly better in my opinion, because you don't have to type the awkward '!' and you don't have to go to a website just to search another website. For example, if I

Why did you set up a software development shop in the BVI, are the problems they are solving specific to the BVI? I'm asking because I'm considering starting a startup on a Caribbean island that I'm originally from. If you have any advice y

Thanks! I noticed others in this thread saying it's better to avoid negatives. For example, "Pursue your dreams" instead of "Don't ignore your dreams". Can you make a positive version of this poster?
