They’ll give interviews to most and downplay the difficulty of the interviews on social forums in order to keep the accept rate low. You have to be an intellectual elite in order to pass the interviews either way.

My guess is that it was just a way to rebut the accusation by bragging about working there. I’m not sure that it worked though.

It’s arrogance *ingrained in the culture. I guess that’s what happens when you tell people that they’re special, constantly, while at work.

Why do the tropes persist? Do the people writing these articles not know anyone with an accounting degree from a state school? It does feel like people like me are forgotten, ignored and dismissed by these cosmopolitan selective school elit

Heist episode and Citadel of Ricks episode are my favorites. I quote the bit about getting a Netflix show (“it’s a very achievable goal”) quite often.

Somehow there is this meme that porn sites are technically impressive due to their scale/small video playback enhancements, neglecting that they have a slightly more captive audience that will forgive small hitches than most streaming

The fact that OF is not all in on crypto payments is a massive indictment of crypto as a payment mechanism.

Except I’m not - I make the same as a new grad at other companies.

We clearly are - we didn't go to the Olympics, don't have free massages at work or even free first class travel to Hawaii like Googlers do - no unlimited external validation, etc and I make as much as a new grad at other companies

I'm absolutely not. How is this your interpretation? I have nothing.

Do you think people at Amazon are stupid then, if we can't get into a better company?

What should I do, if I have a low IQ?

Basically, all of this seems to wind down into the fact that Amazon engineers are lesser and less worthy than everyone else and that even Amazon engineers know about this. Why the hell should I even continue if that's the case? I make

There are lots of Google orgs with horrendous turnover. You just don’t hear about it because they move to other teams.

Do you think that’s because Amazon is a lesser company? I work at Amazon and I’m depressed as hell because of it - not because the work is bad, but because you people think people like me are subhuman. I’ve studied leetcode for years but ap

Honestly the reason why I’m so depressed/sometimes suicidal is because I’m part of a FANG that everyone considers to be stupid and poor. I wish people ever had given me any validation. OPs fixation on IQ to denigrate their coworkers is

I’ve never heard of Olympians or similar (ARML or whatever) at Amazon. For what it’s worth, the process is becoming standardized at the L5 Industry hire level at Amazon as it was for most L4 new grads. The hiring bar being different across

This is true overall, but graphics cards are still basically impossible to get unless you pay 2x-2.5x MSRP. A bit more than a little worse but thankfully relegated to a non-essential product. I was impressed that I had no trouble getting an

I dedicated a lot of my spare time to it in college (and after) too. What did I get for it? I make just $200k a year at the least impressive FAANG and literally everyone considers me to be a mental defective.

This feels like a cope. I don't think it's true at all. I've studied for years and I haven't gotten into any Google-tier companies. It's all IQ, and people like me aren't chosen to be part of the elite class.
