How am I incorrect? I'm referring to the idea of an average consumer buying 100 apps for their Android device and then being leery about switching to iOS because they would lose those apps and vice-versa. Also, what company are you referrin

Well any iOS app you purchase can be installed on all of your iOS devices. UNLESS, this is about how you can ONLY buy stuff from Apple's App Store and then I can understand the point being made. But jailbroken iPhone users are such a small

You're ignoring the significant downsides to the Android ecosystem. For example, if you purchase apps, you would be better off with an iPhone. Why? Because purchasing those apps on an Android phone means that the associated cost of switchin

It is sad that depression seems to have become a four-letter word. Too many people are afraid to talk about it or unaware about what depression really is. Your suggestion about taking up another activity is spot on. When you define yourself

This is exactly what I was thinking. If Macro wants to give someone more money than power to him. There are developers who I've bought additional licenses for friends in the slim hope that they would use the app but worst case I supported t

My recommendation to you would be to not use any of these frameworks to start. If you come to a point in your project where you think you would need one then write it yourself and use these frameworks and their alternatives as references. I

Lines of codes are a horrible metric. Having 10+ "frameworks" that you don't understand automatically included in a boilerplate project is just bad practice. Explaining why these frameworks are useful in certain scenarios and how they work

Having to copy in 4-5 frameworks every time you start a project is not a bad thing. Alternatives are always emerging to even the most used frameworks. Every time I start a project it is a time to look and see if there are better ways to do

Agree 100%. I think this sort of thing would work better as a list of common problems that you encounter when doing iOS dev and the possible frameworks with example projects. Having one massive Xcode project with all of these things already

Nimbus by Jeff Verkoeyen is inspired by Three20 https://github.com/jverkoey/nimbus He realized that Three20 was becoming pretty bloated and outdated and created this spinoff project. I'd say both this and Three20 are pretty bloated and da

That is true but Apple does seem to have a higher adoption rate with their physical products. iOS 4 killed support for the original iPhone and now iOS 5 is killing support for the iPhone 3G. When the iPhone 5 comes out this fall I think by

It is quite impressive that in just over a year developers are able to start requiring iOS 4. I hope that iOS 5's OTA updates we could get to the point where iOS versions older than a few months are considered obsolete. Apple has done a gre

Great story Jason. I just started running in my Vibram Five Fingers July of last year and I just reached my goal of 5km in 24 minutes. I found that Runkeeper really helped with my motivation because I could see the smallest improvements.

It definitely narrows the search quite a bit. The concern would be if you posted stuff online that alluded to your physical location as well. Or if you name is so unique that there are only a few people who share it.
