This part resonated with me > monopolies. The nerdy tech worker was replaced by the modern day chiseled , slick , stock options loaded tech worker who would have gone to banking in 2006. They pop adderall and leetcode and crack coding in

I use this fairly regularly! If you don't know, you can type almost any command, e.g. `curl cht.sh/ls` and it shows you common usages of `ls` with a short description for each command Man pages for the lazy.

That's much different from someone "bankrupting" themselves over crypto. Making a $5K bet when you have decent savings carries pretty minimal risk, like you said.

I hope this might push towards more regulation in social media. There needs to be a way to turn on a chronological feed, hide likes/retweets/scores/comments, and hide all content made by people I don’t follow. Doesn’t have to

Loved how short and to the point it was. If you don’t have time to watch, the idea is it’s incredibly rare for two devs to come up with the same names for vars. To increase the odds of coming up with the same names for vars, you should agr

You are basing this on the premise only people with a fixed address can provide value to society. One of the best classical guitarists I have ever met is homeless, living on the street, but provides extreme value to everyone within earshot

I always fall into this infinite depth problem when I start thinking of the Pareto principle too. I resolve it by identifying the principle as a soft guideline for prioritizing work, not as an objective truth of everything

I don't know if I was playing solitaire incorrectly, but I think there may be a bug when moving cards along the "tableau" piles - I can't move cards of the same suit. for example 5 hearts onto 6 hearts on a tableau pile.

Has anyone used chord keyboards here with success? They seem like a neat concept, but I wonder if there are some weird edge cases that make them hard to use day to day, e.g., you can't use certain keyboard shortcuts properly.

I wonder if you could use this strategy to "sell yourself" to the new company. Switch around the wording so it seems like YOU are trying out the employer for 3 months, when in reality, you meant to stay all along.
