I'm wondering what happy mediums might exist between the note-taking world, the wiki world, and the collaborative office document world. Office-oriented tools like Nextcloud or Collabora seem to be oriented to classic Microsoft Word &#

Along similar lines, I found Flink's blog posts to be good reading. Some examples: https://flink.apache.org/news/2015/12/04/Introducing-windows... https://www.ververica.com/blog/

I am curious if you can draw any comparisons with Calcite? I think Calcite's target (mainly just databases) is more limited, but it probably tackles similar problems regarding query planning/optimization? Other thoughts?

Not too surprising. Each layer can multiply each input by a set of weights, and add them up. That's all you need, in order to convert from base 2 to base 10. In base 2, we calculate the value of a set of digits by multiplying each by 2

The stuff under "Freeze the code before release", such as a code freeze where devs can't make any changes, seems to be the opposite of the article's goal. Your release should be a specific commit ID, not a branch name, s

It seems like the author understands, or perhaps his criteria is based on, only a thin layer of what an IDE can provide. Here's the highlights: - Data flow to/from here (where did the value of this variable come from/go to) -

Usually this refers to falling back to a different region in AWS. It's typical for systems to be deployed in multiple regions due to latency concerns, but it's also important for resiliency. What you call "a very small edge c

It's so much easier to write incorrect/misleading queries in influxql than in promql. And you can't perform operations between two different series names in influxdb, last I looked. That makes it impossible to do things like

American Sign Language can represent numbers up to 999 with one hand, and numbers past that with two hands (formally, though you could still be understood if you were holding a beer in the other hand.) A useful skill to have!

There's no reason we should assume that's happening behind the scenes. Password practices, on the other hand, don't require assumptions because everyone can see exactly what they are.

As a student developer working for my University, I would occasionally add ASCII art to my coworker's (also students) branches in SVN as a lighthearted way to encourage code reviews. If I saw an ASCII art in the main branch, it was a p
