Yes but the value of the license of a black car service is much lower than the one of a normal taxi. Also black car services must wait in their depot and pick up passengers only by appointment. Picking up passengers in the street is reserve

I see a great degree of superficiality in all comments. Uber has been banned for breaking the italian law, period. That the law for taxi and similar services might be too much restrictive and could be improved in favour of the market is a

Did I understand correctly that HolyC is a C like dynamic Language with AOT compilation and dynamic binding? Does this mean that functions can be redefined in the REPL while the code is running? Looks like a pretty cool language!

I eat tomatoes grown by my father who is retired and does this as an hobby. His tomatoes are extremely tasty and satisfying. I really don't miss the need for any genetic fix. Supermarkets tomatoes are commercialized unripe and then rip

Well I did and I found that ClozureCL+Emacs+Slime on Windows ( all latest versions as of today ) do not support the "step command" and I find this an annoying deficiency. Apparently none of the major open source CL implementations

This vote achieves two objectives. The first is to clarify the position of UK in Europe that has always been ambiguous. The second is to weaken the leadership of Germany showing clearly that they are leading in the wrong direction. In the e

More easily said than done. Wxwidgets is itself already a wrapper over the underlying C APIs provided by the OSes. This makes sense if the target language is C++. But it is a real maintanace nightmare if the target is a "managed"

The main difference is the License which is much more liberal in this case. Also binding C++ code requires wrapping the code trough a C interface which is really a pain; especially when considering the the underlying OS APIs have a C root.

I was looking for this for quite a long time. Choosing C allows one to bind easily to a moltitude of "managed" languages. I Always found IUP ( http://webserver2.tecgraf.puc-rio.br/iup/ ) approach very interesti

This is not the same approach. Wxwidget is C++ which makes binding to other languages cumbersome. The same applies also to TK which is binded trough an embedded TCL interpreter.

That's really true... as much truth as all dumb racist stereotipes that I see popping up from time to time here in HN. I guess therefore that Iceland, which has gone bankrupt in the worst possible way, is full of screaming children.

In Italy, and Rome especially, something is finally starting to move. Slowly for sure, but the seed of change starts from a tiny tree. I am glad to see this post here and hope it don't get unnoticed.

The approach is similar to the one chosen by Haxe. I would keep a close eye on the progresses made by this open source language. For the moment the most mature translation target is the C++ one, however there are also targets for Java and
