At least in big tech cities it is in no way a ridiculous thing to say. I interviewed with about 20+ companies based in SF, NYC, Seattle and only one loop didn’t have leetcode equivalent steps

Quake was a huge cultural hit and basically kickstarted the multiplayer shooter genre which has ever since been probably the most popular genre for decades. I’m not sure what these takes about it being a failure are

Haha I remember my first designs as a Jr Engineer after I had crammed the book into my brain before starting. I’m pretty sure the other devs just threw those classes into the trash when I wasn’t looking. For about a year I thought everythin

I have denied your request for a new feature because I have ownership over the project and decided we should work on X. Oh I don’t actually have any power but you think I’m an idiot who can’t see that? Cool

Shift work has been a thing for decades. I would imagine hiring some percentage of your devs for the night shift wouldn’t be that hard as many people enjoy that lifestyle. Then you already cover the majority of the 24 hours with normal work

Eventually yes but the kits available right now are not very impressive. Early adopter tax definitely. You’ll probably get at least 2x faster memory kits eventually, I’m not sure how high DDR5 can scale

Esports games are very greatly optimized to run at high frame rates. You don’t need a 3080 to get infinite FPS in CSGO

I ran a beefy (3 power inputs) 3080 undervolted and you don’t really lose more than a few percentage points of performance and it ran great on my 650W with a 3700X. I much prefer a little performance hit to loud fans
