On iOS users have selectable permissions control; I could allow an app to access my location but not the camera or microphone, and the apps are expected to even work with no permissions granted. That all depends on context, if an app asks

I think having no updated machine under $1000 for the last 3 or 4 years is the culprit and not the refreshed MacBook Pro, which starts at $1800 and has never been their best seller.
