Additionally, even if you could turn off GPS and other data services (i.e. a flip phone or similar) that data is still collected because you are always connected to a physical tower that has a physical location. So looking at these records,

I think GDPR is mostly good, it is a lot of work, but so is protecting people's data. It is a law for individual's personal data. It is coming from the right place. Article 13 is for copyright owners, not individuals. Large corpor

Ethereum is still PoW, they released an initial PoS that runs along side the PoW, "verifying" every 100 transactions or so. The goal is to move entirely to PoS, but things take time.

Eventually, this is probably what needs to happen in the US to fix the market problems with ISPs. NN is a stop-gap measure to prevent a mono/duopoly from taking advantage of their position. We should be pressing for NN right now and wo

Money is a proxy for power in society. The fines for this breach should be enormous since it wasn't just them being hacked, they were negligent in maintaining their systems. If the consequences of losing our data was high enough, more

The filesystem is encrypted and the key is in the secure enclave. So pulling the chips and reading them directly no longer works. I think this is how the FBI got into the bombers iPhone after losing the court case to try and force them into

The tax-prep industry is active in lobbying to keep the tax system from becoming too simple. Think H&R Block and Intuit, not Pricewaterhouse Coopers (however I'm sure they are just as involved, but have less on the line compared to

I think more people need to know about tools like https://forestry.io/ - it is a way to have an end user update content, it gets committed to github/gitlab/bitbucket and then you could have it deployed on a commit

Yeah, it should be getting better soon. Especially since ETH is now 1/3 what it was in Jan ($458.42 at the moment, $1350+ in Jan). As long as the prices don't rally again!

I would venture to say that the ads are tied directly into their core DNA of search. The ads are tied to keywords and demographics (which is basically an ad searching for the correct person to be shown to).

One of the biggest problems I see is it is really hard to attribute an instance of Identity Theft to a specific breach. So you can't (as a reporter) go out and build stories about people directly affected by the breach to build awarene
