A little overkill, but airflow. Free, has history, language agnostic, retries, can handle a large number of time based tasks.

This is something that took me a bit to realize. I've made some friends at work that do things outside of work, but building relationships/friendships outside of work are usually more meaningful and last longer.

Interesting thought. I would say something like the hubble transcends politcal/governmental boundaries... although I do wonder how much if its software is used in other secretive satellites.

I think humans are a bit more civilized than lions, and can comprehend what we're doing.

Nice tool - this would have helped when I was working with HLF years ago. It would be a good addition to preview the yaml files in the UI.

Agree. I don't want the language to start looking like rust.

Would be simple enough to make a userscript to remove and posts with rust in the title

Tech wise not a lot - $5 droplet in DO hosting multiple apps - $12 yearly domain name - ~$200 A few one off tool purchases this year Luxury wise - ~$70 a month on streaming Recurring charges are something I try to keep as low and as few as

To be fair while Howard did a lot of really cool things, he didn't have a lasting legacy with anything. Elon on the other hand has multiple, something like spacex isn't just going to be forgotten. His seclusion didn't help.

Wrote a post about mine - https://blog.peasley.me/post/serving-sites-the-lazy-way_2020... Basically, single VPS with dokku managing multiple sites. Easy to add SSL and more websites whenever.

I made a similar and more shitty version of this a few weeks ago https://peasleyk.gitlab.io/easy_fire/ . I like your idea of ways to modify it with the toolkit to see alternate paths.

Sublime + lsp with add-ons is pretty fast, but that probably strays too far from a real IDE. What ever a "Real" IDE is these days.

Another option besides sensors is using airflows API, which with 2.0 is much improved - http://apache-airflow-docs.s3-website.eu-central-1.amazonaws...

Damn. This is clearly just a fun exercise by OP, and most people here are judging it as if this is a serious project they want people to use in production or something.

Data engineering. I do backend/web things in my free time which I find more more but I would hate to do it for a job full time. DE lets me play around with large datasets with massive machines I normally wouldn't be able to.

I've made internal tools for the exact thing, jwt inspection , which was a nice exercise and guarantees privacy. For things like JSON, using your editor/cli would be much faster. I'm not sure why a lot of developers don'

This is what we do - it's great for decoupling the two. Any heavy work is run in GKE with some custom operators. It also makes on boarding non engineers much easier as they don't have to worry about connections/credentials&#x

Probably DAGs - Operators can be tested from their hooks, but in my experience testing a DAG is annoying - I usually just make a copy that does a dry run/runs with test data, or just test in a local airflow container as it's much
