The whole “ban TikTok” saga reminds me of the South Park episode “Chinpokomon”, where the Japanese were getting Americans hooked on a parody of Pokémon because of their not-so-subtle designs on taking over the world.

Is that quantifiable and verifiable? Are there interviews with software devs whose business was measurably effected by piracy to the point where their life was “ruined”? Genuinely curious to know.

Looking at you Team City. Having to write build configs in Kotlin is better than clicking through a bunch of GUI but they leave a lot to be desired in their API docs. I’ve found that I pretty much have to build the config first in the GUI a

What annoys me is when internal code names are used all over the place throughout the code base. Sure it might make it easier for those steeped in years of company culture to navigate the code, and provide a slightly more playful company cu

GDScript seems very similar to a simple Python syntax. I really had no problem picking it up when working through some Godot tutorials. The syntax is so simple that if you ever needed to port it to another language it should be quite trivia

DearIMGUI has both an unofficial C wrapper and a new official C binding generator. I have personally used the CIMGUI wrapper with C99 apps using the Direct3D11 backend and it works great. The new API is started by the DearIMGUI creator but

At my current job I wrote a simple Python class to abstract settings being read from either command line args, environment variables or a TOML-formatted config file. The class first reads settings from the config file if it is available, th

I found a boxed C128 at a thrift store in the early 2000s but then gave it to a friend of mine because he was obsessed with the Hard Hat Mac’s SID music show on 90.3, KDVS in Davis, CA. I kind of wish I still had it sometimes. It was a neat

I recently switched from Ubuntu to Fedora 36. I think most general Ubuntu users would be able to make the switch with minimal issues. Obviously Fedora uses the yum/dnf package manager and RPM files instead of Deb packages.
