Really misleading title on their part. I was really excited until I read this: > While Windows 10X will run traditional win32 desktop apps, Microsoft currently has no plans to port it to Windows 10 computers. Instead, Microsoft will targ

Further in the thread [0] they explain why this is happening (hint: it's due to the virtualbox driver allocating an RWX page and executing it, which violates integrity rules and has been exploited in the past). Either way, the authors

They released a whitepaper on it, yeah. It was a bit annoying to dig up, but Archive.org comes to the rescue: https://web.archive.org/web/20100217014904/http://xnu-dev.go...

To be fair, the Hackintosh community is pretty persistent. They added opcode emulation into the kernel, for example, to handle running on CPUs without the expected instructions (older AMD CPUs back in 10.8 or so). I wouldn't be surpris

I remember reading discussions in the Qubes mailing list about using MirageOS for the firewall. I didn't know it supported more complex applications now. :)

Thanks for the condescension. I'm saying the modes of failure and effects are different. Digital safety and protecting people's lives are two different things. Both important, but different. But even besides that, you ought to be

They embedded an entire X.509 cert in it? I wonder if the Lotus devs just made an X.509 cert out of key material they were given or if the NSA actually minted it with that subject.
