The guarantee that Facebook won't sue you if they have patents that apply to React.js. To put it simple, without the patent grant you'd be worse off. But with the Apache 2.0 version you'd be better off.

INAL. You have to differentiate between copyright and patents. From the perspective of copyright you're perfectly in the clear, the grant of rights that's part of the BSD license will not be revoked. What will be revoked is the ri

Isn't that even scarier? All my thoughts, memories, ideas, experiences will be gone, just vanished. Unlike @themartorana, I'm somewhat religious (or maybe spiritual would be a better word, as I recognize how much religion is influ

You can at least configure some basic sanitizations, so you'r app doesn't have to deal with them. Examples of the top of my head, are normalizing slashes and removing invalid headers. Whether that's worth it is another questi

I've been an election helper for years (in Germany). We've counted everything by hand - and more than once. I believe scanners are in use in other states, however this is vastly better than fully eelectronic voting as you can stil

Perhaps interestingly, it was recently announced that Internet Explorer 12 will also supports HLS. If you are wondering, like I just did, why it's supported on Android but not Chrome: https://code.google.com/p/chro

To be fair, if you compare IE11's with other browsers at the time of its release, they have stellar support. There is still no other stable browser that supports let, and the only other browser with support for const is Firefox 36 (rel

I'd bet on 10.11 or 10.12. ig they don't eventually remove it, there's little point in deprecating it or forcing it off the App Store as they can not reap the benefits in their own code.

The latter. asm.js is interesting if a part of your app is computationally intensive. For example, if you want to create ZIP files in the browser asm.js is awesome.

Apparently Google's toying with the idea of using "use asm" as a signal to opt into TurboFan[1]. While not the AOT compilation envisioned by the asm.js creators, it speaks to the importance asm.js has already gained. That sai

In the case of node-webkit they give you access to both the Web platform and node APIs. That's possible because both projects use V8, so with a bit of twisting they can be relatively easily integrated into one. (Incidentally, this is w
