You might say, for example, that "in 2008, the world total of electricity production was 20,279 terawatt-hours (TWh)." You need the time period however for it to make sense. Referring to a continuous generation capacity would be

So basically this seems to be a extra-high-bypass turbofan achieved by gearing down the fan. But delayed hugely because giant megacorps move very very slowly.

It looks like the only source of entropy is the build time. So in his example he's generating a GUID with way too little entropy, especially if builds are generated at predictable times, which would cause collisions. If you go furthe

This is a "me too" move by HP. Open network linux already exists, already uses ONIE, and is already a part of the open compute project. http://opennetlinux.org/ This is just a land grab by HP.

Static linking is independent of this concern. Go could implement dynamic linking but doesn't for ideological reasons. I'd really hate to be a distribution maintainer in a world where go components are common. Security bug in th

It's definitely an asset, but it's potentially a dangerous one. It might be like owning enriched uranium fuel pellets. Extremely valuable asset that can power a society, but dangerous if it falls into the wrong hands or is allow

Looks like if you try to load it and have third-party cookies disabled you just get redirected to a 404: "404. Lorem ipsum other castle, arrow to the knee set up us the bomb." Luckily they have an amusing error page.

I'm not really sure that I see the advantage here. Rather than understand the semantics of the N/A values and what effect this would have on your program, why not just add a try block around the inner part of your loop? It'

Firewalls today are able to filter at line rate for a single flow on an interface. If you want to allow 100G by handing 10 10G flows in parallel this is completely possible, but not quite the same thing.

a = if b > 1 { 1 } else { 2 } is equivalent to: a = b > 1 ? 1 : 2 in other languages. Meaning that the if/else statement can be used as an expression that can provide an rvalue of integer type.

Those of use in the AV industry know that in practice AV software misses a lot of stuff, and updates need to be deployed properly as well. It's quite possible that AV software was installed but failed to catch this infection.

There are quite a few ways that this sort of software could be on the drive without malicious intent by the police department. This article is pretty light on details but it doesn't sound like anyone has actually examined these drives

This article from the chef at the Linkery (mentioned in TFA) is required reading on the subject. I think the fact that there is good evidence that tipping is often racist and sexist is perhaps the strongest argument against it. Part 1: htt
