gnumake is a scripting language based on rules. It is not a simple language (bash is not simple either), but it allows to write simple scripts that work fine to perform simple tasks. It works reasonably well for project compilation which is

There are a collection of use cases where sed and awk (and bash) are perfect tools. IMHO, the best advice is to switch to a real scripting language (like perl or python) as soon as the complexity increases. This way you never need to learn

IMHO better error messages start with less architecture. When we try to optimize the code reuse, we obtain a split between the code that detect the error but do not have any cue about the action the user is performing and the caller that wi

Even if you need a gopro, your usage will be probably limited once the hype is passed. You will probably never buy a new go pro either because the first one works fine or because of its limited usage. The next buy may probably be a drone th

Maybe the CPU is the wrong place to perform sophisticated optimizations. IMHO, the CPU should be far more simple and the intelligence should be in the compiler.

My personal red flag is the lack of formula or theorem. For me a beautiful formula is often more enlightening than a lengthy explanation. Fancy names occur in very serious mathematical articles.

I think Google is not seeking power for power or money for money. Google's focus is AI. Google needs the full view of people behaviour in order to build AI. Traveling is a good domain to study human behaviour and traffic optimisation.
