And I could totally do all those things just need to work a couple hours less a day, have more reliable child care and maybe fix the deranged hobo problem so my grocery and body make it home safely after most trips

That may be true but you need to somehow be higher on the social ladder than the assailant. Good luck if you are getting harassed by police to get them to stop you need to have a direct line to the mayor or at least city council.

I think this is the normal way of things. Managers don’t get prompt for making existing stuff work a little better, they get rewarded for moonshot and special projects. As such the core money makers often get neglected in favor of cool but

It’s unimportant because resources don’t really get allocated to that area and while it might be the companies core commodities the folks working then are largely overlook in the company hiarchy

But often not where the resources are allocated. You want to be in the area of the company that’s raining money not the cost center. Code maintenance is more of a cost center

At 5-6 years you break even… idk seems like a pretty weak ROI especially Since you didn’t include cost of capital. A pizza joint doesn’t get very favorable interest rates

We need to stop thinking about power and bandwidth on a per unit basis. There are times when it’s free someone’s you might even get paid to burn it and others when it’s super expensive. As for nest I agree it’s a shit experience and actual

I agree that it’s going to be painful. But it’s going to be painful either way because power plants take too long to build and we have an energy crunch now. We need to get power from somewhere and the only immediate solution is to level loa

I think the next big theme right now is energy. From generation to storage to consumption were going to rethink how we deal with it. Right now our pricing model is broken due to government regulation but I think the coming energy crisis wil
