Wow. This is inspiring — will be interesting to see what else he does in the future. Selfishly I hope he stays focused on innovative hardware stuff rather than getting dragged into advertising optimization or some other big software project

I think sortition is superior to election for most offices, especially those which should be relatively proscribed in what they do, not requiring exceptional competence, etc. I'd almost certainly prefer a mechanically determined pool (

I came from the vtwm/otherwise highly customized xwindows world and could never really understand Unity (also can’t really figure out TikTok or Snapchat UX, so maybe I’m a dumb dinosaur). Windows, Mac, Motif, etc all were pretty easy.

I'm curious which was the biggest factor in the decline of Clubhouse: "everyone's now invited" effect (especially globally); "pandemic boost now over + clubhouse fatigue"; or Twitter Spaces creating something j

BIP39 isn't perfect, but being able to relatively independently of all other information recover someone's wallet (next of kin, etc.) from some words is very nice. This system complicates things a lot -- a grid of custom construct

Anonymous electronic cash, something we've needed for decades, is basically possible today (finally) due to technology, proven market demand, infrastructure, "legitimate use cases", etc. There will probably be multiple syste

I have 2Gbps symmetric fiber at home for $100/mo. There are a couple fiber vendors, cable Internet (although low upload speeds, but better than Comcast in the US), fixed wireless, and now Starlink. Internet, cell, telecommunications

I just browsed that list and it was hilarious that most of the EU sites were google/amazon country sites. But that list is from 2019.

Hungarian? I assume you mean Czech (xvideos)? And xnxx (not sure if they're related). There's also a Cyprus based site (xhamster) although I suspect they have substantial operations in not-Cyprus.

Maybe I'm a horrible person for wanting this, but how hard would it be to repurpose this as a device-local translation extension for Chrome/Chromium/Brave?

Just get someone to give you Costco gift cards; you can then enter the store with that gift card, and use other payment mechanism for the balance of purchase.
