Is there a more authoritative source? This article comes off very heavily as "Here's some FUD. Oh by the way, our product just so happens to alleviate the problem that we just pointed out."

You've missed my point. If you were in a parking lot and found your car to be unlocked, this might alarm you. You might try someone else's door to see if it's similarly unlocked, and just to be sure it's not a fluke, you might try another.

If you have a lot full of unlocked cars, perhaps you should bear some of the blame too? When Sony was hacked and user data was leaked, they received quite a bit of blame. At least they had some semblance of security. AT&T was wide open.

Machine learning casts a problem into higher dimensions in order to linearize it. Linear problems are easier solve, and can be projected back into the original space. An extra dimension is literally just another variable, which doesn't nece

For what it's worth, it looks like the preview books simply have every byte XOR'd with 0x42, and you can see the image requests coming in on the Network tab of the Chrome developer tools while you're in the Flash-based reader. (I can't say

So is the redirecting to HTTPS thing going to permanent then? I guess I'll have to figure out how hack some Chrome extensions that haven't been updated for 3 years since the creators seem to have hard-coded the HTTP URLs.

C++ is not a superset of C[0]. If you want to use MSVC and newer features, then you're not writing C anymore; you're just writing an awkward C++ program. [0] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compatibility_of_C_and_C%2B%2B

Integer subtraction with a result of 0 sets the same status bit as comparing one value to another, so you can get away without the compare instruction when counting down. It might not sound like a lot, but it can be meaningful in a tight lo

If the only reason people are playing the new game is because the old one shut down, then you're not really releasing a new game; you're renewing their subscription. You should either realize that this is evil and innovate, or realize that

Permadeath only really works for games that don't have an explicit narrative. It's no fun to die and then have to sit through the same conversations and plot twists all over again. Roguelikes tend to be complex and random enough to allow th

For me, the biggest value in emulation is playing the fan translations of games that were never originally made available in English. Some of my favourites: Downtown Special: Kunio-kun no Jidaigeki Dayo Zenin Shuugou! http://www.romhacking

Balancing an inverted pendulum is one of the classic "hard" problems in control theory. (At least, in undergrad.) Not only has he solved that on a flying platform, but he's going to the next levels. Tossing sticks around between flying robo

Well, I see the image as top-down view of one level in a cave. Going down stairs would mean generating another level. It's entirely legitimate to see it as a side-view, in which case yes, you'd be cutting through the terrain.
