That was super frustrating, I went back a few times to see if he said it and he did not. I was just waiting for him to tell me for the rest of the video and it never happened.

If you Google 'top facebook games', and you browse to each one, you will find a majority of them use Flash. Here are a few of them: - Candy Crush (50,000,000+ monthly users) - Dragon City (10,000,000+ monthly users) - Criminal Cas

I use Ansible with Brew and Brew Cask. I've found using Brew for everything makes it easier to upgrade all applications for security reasons and it also gives a high level view of my system. Here's the relevant config file of the

I've asked these questions in interviews and a lot of programmers seem to know the basics (what a hash is), but seem to fall short when it comes to things like what a salt is, modern storage techniques (bcrypt, scrypt, PBKDF2) and how

These concepts also work really well for dating and relationships. If you approach girls with a scarcity mindset, you tend to be a lot more needy, insecure and generally feel like a victim. If you approach girls with an abundance mentality,

I have not upgraded specifically because of the design of the 6, so there must be others that feel the same way. I'm really happy about the SE and will be upgrading now.

If you're using node.js and you use these hashing methods, your entire server is going to pause for 0.5 seconds on a login because it runs on a single thread. Goodbye to all of your server performance. You can create a worker system, o

I'm starting to just read the comments on HN and I don't even look at articles anymore. I suppose this behaviour is similar to what I do on social media. The good part is that I have become a significantly better programmer from t

RuneScape was a giant reason I got into programming and has a special place in my heart. I was about 13 years old at the time. I recall reverse engineering the client, modifying existing Java private servers and interacting with a range of

Does this mean it's a good idea to reset all keys/passwords for any service that was using Xen? I don't know much about Xen, so perhaps someone else can chime in on this. This exploit says it's for PV, and not for HVM. B

I got 10 / 18, that's a pass! I learned some of these numbers from doing a lot of stress tests on the game I work on. I think the really big thing is to actually create some infrastructure around your product to run performance te

Writing multi-threaded code is hard, writing micro services is even _harder_. I don't think your argument holds here. Micro services are hard to write, so don't write them unless you absolutely have to.

We've had a lot of issues with micro services. They're extremely difficult to debug and end up being too generic. I argue the reasons why we introduced microservices has merit (massive code base) but does not mean they are simple

This might be obvious to anyone who has done SEO, but can Googlebot index React/Angular websites accurately? I was always under the impression that the isomorphic aspect of React helped with SEO (not just load times.)

I haven't really had an issue with this. You can use the functions .toJS(), .toArray(), .toObject() on any Immutable object to go back to a plain JavaScript object.
